How To Easily Remove Stubborn Foundation Stains From Silk Chiffon

What You Need:
- White vinegar
- Shampoo
- Coconut oil
- Borax
- Dishwashing liquid
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Stain remover
- Baking soda
Instructions:
- First, take your stained article of clothing and lay it flat on a clean, dry surface.
- Next, using a spoon, scrape off as much of the foundation as possible, and then gently brush away remaining powder. Be sure to do this carefully so as not to damage the fabric.
- In a small bowl, mix together one part white vinegar with two parts dishwashing liquid. Dip a clean cloth into solution and dab at the affected area.
- Continue to dab until all of the foundation has been removed.
- Rinse the area with warm water and allow the garment to air-dry.
- If the stain persists, combine one teaspoon of coconut oil with two tablespoons of baking soda. Work the mixture into the stain, and leave it for 30 minutes before rinsing it off.
- Mix together one tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide, one tablespoon of Borax, and one teaspoon of shampoo. Apply the mixture to stain, and let it sit for one hour before washing the garment according to its care instructions.
- If the stain is still present, apply a stain-removal product specifically designed for silk fabrics. Follow all of the instructions on the product’s label, and then launder as usual.
- Finally, check the garment for any remaining stains. If there are none, air dry the fabric as normal.
