Removing foundation stains from silk charmeuse can be tricky, as you don't want to cause any further damage to the fabric. The first step is to act quickly before the stain sets in. One of best ways to do this is to rinse the stained area under cool water. Do not use hot water, as this can cause the stain to spread.
Next, prepare a cleaning solution by mixing together one teaspoon of clear dish soap with one pint of cold water. Use a dropper to apply the solution directly onto stain, and allow it to sit for five minutes. Then, take a clean cloth and lightly dab the area until it is dry. This process should loosen stain, allowing you to remove it more easily.
If the stain persists, try using rubbing alcohol or white vinegar. Dip a cotton ball in the liquid, and then blot the stain with it. You may need to repeat the process several times to remove the stain completely.
Once stain has been removed, wash the fabric with cold water and mild detergent. Line dry garment and inspect the fabric for any remaining marks. Repeat the process if necessary. Once fabric is completely dry, you can enjoy your stain-free silk charmeuse fabric once again!
