The process of removing foundation stains from shantung is similar to removing other makeup stains from fabrics. First, using a dull knife or spatula, scrape off any solid residue from stain. Next, mix equal parts of rubbing alcohol and water. Dip a clean cloth into mixture and blot the stain. Work from the outside of the stain inwards.

Once the stain has been blotted with the rubbing alcohol and water mixture, apply a small amount of laundry detergent directly onto the stain. Rub the detergent into the shantung with a soft-bristle brush. Finally, rinse the clothing in warm water, and repeat the process if necessary.

After the stain has been removed, make sure to check the clothing for colorfastness before laundering it. To do this, dip a corner of the fabric into a cup of water and gently rub the area with your fingers. If the color does not transfer, clothing is likely colorfast, and you can continue laundering it.

Following these steps will help you remove foundation stains from shantung fabric, so you don’t have to worry about discoloration or damage to fabric. Plus, with proper care and maintenance, you can enjoy your shantung fabric for years to come.
