For purses made with light-colored fabrics, such as canvas, start by dabbing the stain with a gentle cleaning solution. You can make your own cleaning solution with a combination of warm water and laundry detergent. Once the cleaning solution has been applied, gently rub the area with pad of your thumb until the stain is removed. If you're having trouble getting rid of the stain, try using a soft-bristled toothbrush in a circular motion, being careful not to rub too hard.
For purses made with darker fabrics, like leather or faux leather, you'll want to start by testing out a cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area of the purse. Mix a few drops of mild soap with a small amount of warm water and apply it to the area. Be sure to gently dab the area and not rub it to avoid damaging the fabric. If the cleaning solution works, you can use it on the affected areas of the purse. If cleaning solution doesn't work, you can try using a slightly damp cloth and a soft-bristled toothbrush to remove the stain.
Once you've removed the foundation stain from your purse, you'll need to give it time to dry before using it again. Be sure to dab the area gently with a dry cloth to help speed up the drying process. If it's a warm day outside, you can also hang the purse in direct sunlight to help it dry faster. Once area is completely dry, you can go ahead and enjoy your like-new purse!
