Start by pretreating the stain with a solution made of gentle detergent mixed with warm water. Apply the solution to the stained area and let it sit for several minutes. Then, gently rub the fabric together to help loosen the foundation.
Next, fill a sink or bucket with warm water and add a mild detergent, such as dish soap. Submerge the pullover in the soapy water and let it soak for 30 minutes. Once it has finished soaking, give it a light scrub with a brush.
Once you’ve finished scrubbing, rinse the pullover in cold water. Avoid wringing out the excess water; instead, press the material between your hands or use a towel to gently press the water out. Finally, hang the pullover up to dry in a well-ventilated area.
Once the pullover is completely dry, check for any remaining foundation stains. If any are still visible, repeat the pretreatment and soaking steps until they’re all gone. If the stains remain stubborn, try using a stain remover specifically designed for fabrics.
Removing foundation stains from pullovers doesn’t have to be difficult. With these simple steps, you should be able to get rid of any stubborn stains and keep your pullover looking like new.
