The first step in cleaning any kind of stain is to remove as much of the excess product as possible. You can do this by gently blotting the area with a clean cloth or paper towel. Be sure to use gentle pressure and don’t rub too hard as this may cause the stain to spread.
Once the excess product is removed, you can begin the actual cleaning process. If the stain is still fresh, you can try dabbing the area with a mixture of one part white vinegar to three parts warm water. This will help to loosen stain and make it easier to remove.
You can also use a mild detergent or a specialty stain remover if you prefer. Working from the edges of stain towards the center, gently rub the stain remover or detergent onto the area. Again, be sure to use gentle pressure and don’t rub too hard as this could cause the foundation to spread further.
When the stain has been sufficiently treated, rinse area with warm water and then blot it with a clean cloth to dry. Be sure to keep an eye on the stain, as it may need to be re-treated if it persists. Once the area is dry, you can fluff the pillow if necessary.
By following these simple steps, you can help to remove foundation stains from your pillows and ensure that your bedding looks its best.
