- Liquid laundry detergent
- Baking soda
- White vinegar
- Toothbrush or soft brush
Steps for Cleaning Foundation Stains from a Pencil Skirt:
- Check the skirt's care label to make sure it can be safely washed with water and detergent.
- If the skirt is safe to wash, create a mixture of one teaspoon of liquid laundry detergent and one cup of warm water.
- Apply detergent mixture directly onto foundation stain and allow it to sit for 10 minutes.
- Mix together one tablespoon of baking soda and two tablespoons of white vinegar.
- Using a soft brush or toothbrush, gently scrub the stained area with the baking soda and vinegar mixture.
- Once the foundation stain is gone, rinse the skirt off with cold water.
- Let skirt air dry or tumble dry on a low setting.
Additional Tips to Keep in Mind:
- Avoid using hot water when washing stained area, as this can cause foundation stain to set into the fabric.
- If the foundation stain is still visible after following above steps, repeat process until the stain is removed.
- If you can't machine wash the skirt, treat the stained area with a damp cloth and liquid laundry detergent while using a gentle rubbing motion.
