Instructions

  1. Check care label on the panties to see if you can machine-wash them. If yes, move to step 2, if not, skip to step 5.
  2. Set washing machine to a gentle cycle and use mild laundry detergent. Add 1/4 cup (60 mL) of white vinegar to the water to help break up the foundation stain.
  3. Remove the panties from the washing machine after the cycle ends and check to see if foundation stain is gone. If some stain remains, proceed to step 4.
  4. Squirt a small amount of stain remover directly onto the foundation stain. Work the stain remover in with your fingers or a soft brush. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then wash as normal.
  5. If the panties cannot be machine-washed, fill a bucket with lukewarm water and add 1/4 cup (60 mL) of dish soap. Immerse the panties in the soapy water and let them soak for 15 minutes. Rinse the panties in clean water and hang to dry.

Tips

  • For stubborn stains, apply a liquid laundry detergent or a commercial spot remover before washing.
  • Be sure to launder your panties immediately after they have been stained. The longer the wait, the harder it will be to remove the stain.
  • To prevent foundation stains, wear a thong or a pair of underwear made from a fabric that won’t absorb or cling to foundation.
