Step 1: Pre-treat the Stain

Mix a solution of 1 teaspoon of liquid dishwashing detergent with 2 cups of lukewarm water and stir until suds form. Dampen a white cloth or cotton ball with the solution and dab the foundation stain until it is completely saturated. Allow the pre-treatment to remain on the stain for about 10 minutes.

Step 2: Wash the Garment

Machine wash the stained garment in cold water using a gentle cycle. It is important to use cold water, as hot water could cause the stain to become permanent. Put garment in the washing machine alone, without any other items, and use a small amount of mild detergent. Let item run through entire cycle.

Step 3: Check the Stain

After the washing cycle has finished, inspect the garment. If the foundation stain remains, repeat steps 1 and 2. If the stain is gone, put the garment in the dryer on low heat for 20 minutes. Allow garment to air dry on a line if desired.
