No one likes having to deal with foundation stains on their swimwear. Fortunately, with a few simple steps you can tackle these unsightly marks and have your one-piece swimsuit looking good as new in no time at all.

How To Remove Foundation Stains:

  1. Before starting, check the label on your swimsuit to make sure you know what type of fabric it is made from. Different fabrics require different cleaning methods, so this information is important to know.
  2. Mix a solution of 1 part mild detergent and 1 part warm water.
  3. Soak a soft cloth in the solution, and gently rub the stained area until the stain begins to break up.
  4. If necessary, use an old toothbrush to work the detergent into the fibre of the fabric.
  5. Rinse the swimsuit in fresh, warm water and lay it flat to dry.

Additional Tips:

  • If swimsuit is delicate, hand-wash it instead of machine-washing.
  • Use cool or tepid water rather than hot, as hot water can cause some fabrics to shrink.
  • For stubborn stains, try using a mixture of lemon juice and cream of tartar.
  • Always lay delicate swimsuits out to dry on a flat surface, and don't leave them in direct sunlight.

With a little patience and perseverance, you're sure to have your one-piece swimsuit back to looking its best in no time.
