Removing Foundation Stain from Mattress
- First, begin by evaluating the extent of damage to the mattress caused by the foundation. If stain is relatively small, then proceed to the next step.
- Grab a solution made with 1 cup baking soda and 2 tablespoons of white vinegar liquid and mix together in a spray bottle. Spray the solution directly onto stained area to break down the foundation particles.
- Wait for around 5 minutes and use a brush (old toothbrush is perfect) to scrub away at the stained area. Rinse with lukewarm water.
- If the stain is particularly stubborn, pour enough hydrogen peroxide directly onto the stain so that it is completely saturated. Then on top of that solution, sprinkle some borax powder. Allow combined solution to sit on stain for at least 30 minutes before scrubbing away with a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
- Pour a generous amount of rubbing alcohol onto a clean rag and wipe the stained area until the stain fades.
- Let mattress dry naturally and avoid using direct heat sources such as hairdryers.
