No matter how careful you are, it’s inevitable that you’ll eventually spill makeup on your clothes. Foundation is one of the trickiest types of makeup to remove when it lands on fabric, such as a jumper. Fortunately, it’s not impossible to get out and there are a few simple steps you can take to remove foundation stains from your jumper.

Step 1: Blot the Stain

The first thing you should do if you want to remove foundation stains from your jumper is to dab off as much of the excess liquid as you can. This can be done easily using a tissue or a damp, clean cloth. Make sure to blot stain rather than rubbing it, as this will reduce the chances of the stain spreading.

Step 2: Pre-treat with Detergent

Once you’ve blotted off as much of the liquid as you can, you should pre-treat stain with detergent. Use a gentle detergent such as a hand-washing detergent, and mix it with a bit of warm water. Then, gently dab the mixture onto the stain and leave it to soak for a few minutes.

Step 3: Apply Stain Removal Spray

After pre-treating the stain with detergent, you can apply stain removal spray directly to the affected area. Spray it on liberally and let it sit for a few minutes before blotting the area again with a clean, damp cloth. Then, rinse the spot with warm water.

Step 4: Wash as Normal

Once you’ve removed as much of the stain as possible, you can wash your jumper as you normally would. Be sure to read care label and use correct washing temperature and detergent. Then, hang your jumper to dry and check that the stain has been completely removed. If not, you may need to repeat previous steps.
