If foundation stain is still fresh, act as quickly as possible. First, use a dry cloth to blot the stain. Soak up as much foundation as possible using gentle pressure and dabbing motions. Don't scrub or rub – this can cause the stain to spread and become harder to remove.
Once you've blotted stain with a dry cloth, take a few sprays of pre-wash stain remover and gently press down on fabric. This should loosen the stain and make it easier to work on. Allow the pre-wash to sit for 5 minutes before laundering the item in the hottest possible water temperature allowed.
If foundation stain has had time to set in fabric, you'll need to tackle it before the item can be laundered. Start by soaking the item in a bowl or sink filled with warm water and laundry detergent. Allow the item to soak for at least 10 minutes. You may also want to try a specialised stain remover such as Shout or Zout.
Once the item has been soaked, use a soft brush to scrub the stain until it begins to break up. Don't be too vigorous with your scrubbing – foundation is easily rubbed off of fabric, so it's important to be gentle and thorough. Rinse the garment in cold water after scrubbing and then launder in the hottest water temperature the material allows.
