When it comes to makeup, foundation is one of the most common products used to create flawless skin. However, one downside of wearing foundation is when it transfers onto your clothes and is difficult to remove. We’ve all been there—leaning in for a hug and seeing streaks of foundation on our favorite white top or favorite jacket afterward. When this happens, it’s important to act fast and take the right steps to remove those stubborn stains.
The first step to removing foundation stains is to identify what kind of material your jacket is made of. Is it made of cotton, polyester, nylon, or a blend? Knowing this will help you determine which cleaning method to use. Here’s what you need to do:
If your jacket is made from natural fabrics, such as cotton, you may want to try spot-cleaning stain with rubbing alcohol instead of detergent. To do this, put a few drops of rubbing alcohol directly onto the stain, and then gently blot with a clean cloth until the stain has been removed. Be sure to test rubbing alcohol on an inconspicuous area of your jacket first to be sure it won’t cause discoloration.
You can also try using a stain remover product that’s specifically designed for foundation stains. These products are formulated to quickly and effectively break down and remove stubborn makeup stains from fabrics.
