How to Clean Foundation Stains from HM Clothes Quickly and Easily

Stains from foundation or other makeup products are annoying, but you don't have to resort to throwing away your favourite HM clothes. With the right methods and cleaning products, you can easily remove foundation stains from HM clothes.

What You'll Need

Before you start, you'll need some basic items to clean deep foundation stains from HM clothes:

• Liquid laundry detergent
• White vinegar
• Hydrogen peroxide
• Cloth
• Baking soda

Step 1: Pre-Treat the Stain

Start out by treating the foundation stain before you put it in the washing machine:

1. Mix a solution of one part liquid detergent and two parts cold water.
2. Soak a cloth in the solution and use it to blot the stain, pressing firmly.
3. Repeat process until the stain starts to lift.

Step 2: Wash the Clothes

Once you have pre-treated the stain, it's time to put garment in the washing machine:

1. Put the garment in the washing machine with the rest of your clothes.
2. Add a cup of white vinegar to the machine.
3. Set the machine to a normal cycle with cold water.
4. Let machine run its course.

Step 3: Check the Stain

When the washing cycle is finished, take a look at the stain. If it's still visible, it's time to move on to next step.

Step 4: Spot Clean the Stain

Spot cleaning is a great way to remove stubborn foundation stains:

1. Mix one part hydrogen peroxide with two parts water in a bowl.
2. Dip a cloth into the mixture and dab it on stained area.
3. Leave the mixture on the stain for 10 minutes.
4. Rinse the area with cold water and pat it dry with a cloth.

Step 5: Apply Baking Soda

If the stain is still visible, try applying baking soda to the area:

1. Sprinkle some baking soda on the stained area.
2. Gently rub the baking soda into the fabric.
3. Leave it on for 15 minutes.
4. Brush off the baking soda and check the stain.

Step 6: Launder Again

If the stain is still visible, it's time to give it one last wash:

1. Put the garment back in the machine.
2. Add some laundry detergent and a cup of white vinegar.
3. Set the machine to a normal cycle and cold water.
4. Let the machine run its course.

After following these steps, your HM clothes should be free of foundation stains!
