Foundation stains on garter are a common problem for brides. The good news is that it is possible to remove these stains without spending a lot of money or time. Here are a few tips that can help you get your garter looking clean and beautiful again.

1. Spot Test a Discreet Area

Before attempting to clean your garter, spot test a discreet area to make sure that you won’t damage fabric. Take a small piece of cotton wool or a soft cloth and moisten it with a little bit of warm water. Rub damp cloth onto the fabric and wait a few moments to make sure that it does not cause any discoloration or damage.

2. Try a Soap Solution

If the spot test passes, you can try a soap solution. Wet a piece of cotton wool or a soft cloth with some warm water and a small amount of mild laundry detergent. Gently rub affected area in circles to loosen the foundation before rinsing it off. If the stain still doesn’t come off, try repeating the process one more time.

3. Use Intensive Solutions

If the stain still doesn’t come out, you can try using an intensive cleaner such as rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover, or hydrogen peroxide. Dab a little bit of the cleaner onto a soft cloth and gently rub it into the stain. Rinse the garter thoroughly with warm water and soap before allowing it to air dry.

4. Dry Cleaning

If all else fails, take your garter to the dry cleaner. They should be able to remove the stain without damaging the fabric.
