Using a paper towel or soft cloth, gently dab the excess product off of furniture's surface. Do not rub the area, as this could cause further damage. It is best to work in small, circular motions from outside of stain towards center. This will help to remove as much of the excess product as possible.
Mix a mild soap, such as dishwashing liquid, with a few drops of warm water. Using a soft cloth, apply the solution to the stain and gently scrub in a circular motion. Continue scrubbing until the stain is removed. Rinse affected area with clean water and dry with a paper towel.
If the stain is still visible after steps one and two, it may be necessary to use a special stain remover. Be sure to read the directions on the packaging and follow them carefully; failure to do so could result in further damage to the furniture. Apply the stain remover to a cotton ball or cloth and dab at the stain until it is removed.
Once the stain has been successfully removed, it is important to protect furniture against future staining. Apply a wax or sealant to the surface of the furniture to create an invisible barrier and make it easier to clean in future.
