Corduroy is a popular fabric for clothing, but it can easily become stained if you don’t take proper care of it. Foundation stains can be especially difficult to remove since they are usually darker and more stubborn than other kinds of stains.

Foundation stains are caused by makeup smudges or spills. They are usually brownish or yellowish in color and darker than other kinds of stains. To tell if a stain is caused by foundation or another substance, try to detect its underlying texture. Foundation stains are usually thicker and can feel greasy.
The simplest way to remove foundation stains from corduroy is to use soap and water. Start by wetting the fabric with cold water. Then, apply a few drops of liquid dish soap on the area and rub gently with a soft brush to create a lather. Work the lather into the stain and rinse with cold water. Repeat until stain is gone.
Hairspray and vinegar can also be effective at removing foundation stains from corduroy. Begin by spraying the hairspray directly onto the stain. Then, take a clean cloth and gently blot the area to lift the stain. You can also try using a mixture of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts warm water to remove stain. Apply the mixture to the stain with a clean cloth and rub gently. Rinse with cold water and repeat as needed.
