Whether you’re at home or out and about, it’s easy to accidentally leave a smudge of foundation on your bag. Not to worry though — there are a few simple steps to help you cleanse your Coach bag of foundation stains.
The first step is to make sure you’ve got the right mixture for cleaning your bag. Gently mix together equal parts white vinegar and water, creating a solution that’s both gentle enough to keep fabric of your bag safe, but strong enough to tackle the foundation.
Before you go ahead and soak your entire bag in the cleaning solution, it’s important to test it on a small, hidden area first. That way, if the solution affects that color of the bag, you can stretch out a water-resistant spray to help protect it.
Put the cleaning solution onto a clean cloth, then gently dab it onto the foundation stain. You might need to apply a bit of pressure to help cloth work solution into the fabric, but be careful not to press too hard — you don’t want to create more damage to the bag.
Once you’ve worked the cleaning solution into the foundation stain, grab another clean cloth and gently wipe away the solution and any foundation residue. Don’t rub too hard, otherwise you could end up damaging the fabric of your bag.
Finally, lay out your bag in a cool, dry place and check in on progress every now and again. Once you’re satisfied the stain is gone, you can add a leather conditioner to bring back the original luster of your beloved Coach bag.
