Using a clean white cloth, apply gentle pressure to the stained area of fabric to absorb any excess foundation. Don't rub or scrub the fabric as this could cause stain to spread.
Mix a small amount of detergent with lukewarm water in a bowl or sink. Dip a clean white cloth into the solution and then gently dab the stained area with the cloth. Take care that the solution doesn't reach the base of the fabric too much as it may leave a discolored mark.
Remove the cleaning solution from stained area by rinsing the fabric in lukewarm water. Make sure to rinse until all soap residue is gone.
To dry the fabric, either hang it up and let it air dry, or if there is no access to natural sunlight, use a cool iron on the fabric for a quick and efficient drying process.
One way of preventing makeup stains from occurring is to wear a light dusting of translucent powder before applying makeup to help keep stains at bay.
It's best to use a gentle detergent specifically designed for delicate fabrics as regular laundry detergents can be too harsh and damage the fabric fibers.
