What You'll Need

  • A mild detergent
  • Cold water
  • A soft-bristled scrub brush or sponge
  • A drop of liquid dish soap (optional)

Instructions

  1. Treat stained area of the cardigan with a mild detergent. Let it sit for a few moments.
  2. Dampen a sponge or scrub brush in cold water and gently rub the stained area until it starts to lighten. Focus on the edges of the stain.
  3. If the stain is stubborn, try adding a drop of liquid dish soap to the sponge and scrubbing the area.
  4. Once the stain is gone, rinse the area with cold water until it's all gone.
  5. Allow the cardigan to air dry.

Tips

  • Always test your detergent on a small, hidden part of the cardigan first to make sure it won't damage the fabric.
  • If the stain has set in, try soaking the cardigan in a mixture of mild detergent and cold water before you scrub it.
  • If you're concerned about damaging fabric, take the cardigan to a professional cleaner.
