Foundation stains happen, but knowing how to deal with them quickly is key. Lucky for you, we’ve got an easy 3-step process that will help you get rid of foundation stains from your boxers.

Step 1: Pre-Treat the Stain

Before you wash your boxers, it’s best to pre-treat the stain with a laundry stain remover or detergent. Make sure to rub the detergent into fabric, so that stain is completely covered. Allow the detergent to sit on stain for 15-20 minutes.

Step 2: Use Hot Water to Wash the Stained Item

Once you’ve pre-treated your stained boxer shorts, it’s time to put them in the washing machine. Set the machine to use hot water, which will help to break down and remove foundation stain. If you don’t have a hot water setting, you can also add a couple of tablespoons of white vinegar to the cycle to help break down stain.

Step 3: Hang Dry or Tumble Dry on Low Heat

Once the cycle is complete, remove the boxers from the washer. Hang them out to dry or if you choose to use the dryer, make sure to set it to low heat. The heat from the dryer can actually set the stain and make it harder to remove.

And there you have it! Those pesky foundation stains should now be gone and your boxers looking as good as new!
