Fortunately, although foundation stains can be tricky to remove, they don’t have to be permanent. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to get rid of foundation stains on your bodycon dress.
Begin by pre-treating the stained area with detergent. Mix one teaspoon of liquid detergent with two cups of cold water. Apply some of this mixture to the stained area using a soft cloth or cotton swab. Gently rub the fabric until you see the stain begin to lighten. Then, rinse the area with clean water.
Once you’ve pretreated the foundation stain, put the dress into the washing machine. Be sure to select a cold wash cycle, as the heat from a warm or hot cycle could set stain further. Also, add a few tablespoons of white vinegar into the wash cycle. Vinegar helps to break down foundation stains and other difficult marks.
After the wash cycle has finished, take the dress out of the washing machine and leave it to air dry. Avoid using a tumble dryer or any direct sources of heat, as this could cause the foundation stain to become permanent.
When the dress is dry, inspect it carefully for any remaining evidence of the foundation stain. If any of it remains, repeat steps 1-3 until the stain has gone.
By following these steps, you can remove foundation stains from your bodycon dress. It may take a few attempts, but with patience, you should be able to restore your dress to a pristine condition.
