Foundation stains can significantly affect the appearance of board shorts and ruin the fabric, but thankfully they're easily remedied with a few household items. Here’s what you’ll need:
Before tackling the stain, you'll need to prepare the board shorts for cleaning. Start by spotting any areas where the foundation has seeped into the fibers; this will help you identify the exact area you need to tackle.
Fill the bowl with warm water and add a tablespoon of mild dishwashing soap. Place board shorts in the soapy water and let them soak for 20 minutes. This will help break down the stain and loosen up the fibers.
Using soft bristle brush, gently scrub the stained area until foundation mark is removed. If stain is still there, try using a stain remover (following the instructions on the packaging).
Once the stain has been removed, rinse the board shorts under cold water and hang them up to allow them to dry naturally. Don't put board shorts in the tumble dryer as this may cause the stain to set in.
And there you have it, your board shorts should be stain-free and looking as good as new!
