Removing Foundation Stains from Fabric

Dab the stained area with warm soapy water, then rinse by blotting with a damp cloth. If necessary, repeat the process until the stain is gone. Then, put the fabric in a washing machine with cold water and detergent. Wash as normal, then dry and check that the stain is gone.

Removing Foundation Stains from Carpet

Mix together a solution of cold water, non-bleach laundry detergent, and white vinegar. Using a blotting motion, apply the mixture to affected area and let it sit for a few minutes. Blot with a clean, damp cloth, then rinse the area with cold water. Finally, repeat process until the stain is gone.

Removing Foundation Stains from Other Hard Surfaces

Mix together a solution of dish soap, white vinegar, and warm water. Apply the mixture directly onto the stained surface and scrub gently with a sponge or a soft cloth. Then, rinse off with water and dry thoroughly. Repeat until the stain is completely gone.

Tips for Removing Foundation Stains

  • Always use cold water when attempting to remove a foundation stain, as hot water may only set the stain further.
  • When possible, try to tackle the stain as soon as possible. Letting the stain set will make it much more difficult to remove.
  • Test any cleaning solutions on an inconspicuous area before attempting to treat the stain, to make sure product won’t damage the fabric or surface.
