Step 1: Scrape off Excess Debris

Start by gently scraping off any excess debris with a dull knife or spoon. Be sure to avoid doing this too vigorously as this could damage the fabric of your trench coat.

Step 2: Blot with a Damp Cloth

Next, use a damp cloth or paper towel to blot the stain. This can help to remove some of the residue and make it easier to apply the next step.

Step 3: Pre-treat with Stain Remover

Once you've blotted area, spray it with a pre-treatment spray or other stain remover. This should be something that is safe for the fabric and color of your trench coat.

Step 4: Wash on Delicate Cycle

Next, place your trench coat in the washing machine on a delicate cycle. Use a mild detergent and cold water for best results. Do not put it in dryer until after you've checked that the stain has been removed.

Step 5: Check and Repeat if Needed

After the washing machine cycle has finished, check the coat to see if the stain has been removed. If it has not, repeat steps 2-4 and check again.
