The first step for cleaning any fabric is to remove any solid debris as soon as possible. Use a blunt object (like a spoon) to scrape up any solid waste. Then, use a paper towel or rag to blot up any additional liquids.
After the initial removal of debris, the next step is to clean the area with fresh, clean water. Blot the area with a clean and damp cloth in order to remove any remaining residue.
Once you've removed the bulk of the stain, it's time to pre-treat the area with a mixture of warm water and mild liquid soap. Allow the mixture to sit on the area for at least 10 minutes before rinsing away. This will help to pre-treat the affected area before further stain removal.
After pre-treating the area, you can then use a specialized stain remover to tackle any remaining residue. Be sure to read the instructions on package and apply the product to affected area. You may need to repeat this step multiple times in order to completely remove stain.
Once all of the stain is removed, it's time to rinse the area thoroughly with clean water. Once you've finished rinsing, you can launder the fabric as usual. This will ensure that no lasting odor remains.
Removing feces stains from fabrics may seem daunting, but with the right steps it can be surprisingly easy. By using a combination of scraping, blotting, pre-treating and stain removers, you can effectively remove even the toughest of stains. With a bit of effort and patience, you can have your fabrics looking like new again.
