For this task, you’ll need a few basic supplies. The most important is a quality enzyme-based cleaner, which can break down the proteins in the waste and make them easier to remove. You’ll also need a dish scrubber, rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, laundry detergent, white vinegar, a soft-bristled brush, and cloths for blotting.
Start by taking a dry cloth and gently blotting stain. This will help absorb some of moisture and make the cleaning process more effective. Be sure to blot area rather than rubbing it into the fabric.
Once you’ve finished blotting, use a dish scrubber to pre-treat the stain with your enzyme-based cleaner. Work it into the fabric and let it sit for at least 10 minutes before rinsing it off with cold water. This will help loosen the proteins and break them down further.
Mix a spot treatment using equal parts rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, and laundry detergent. Apply this mixture to the stained area and let it sit for 15 minutes. This will help further break down proteins, so the stain will come out more easily.
Rinse the spot treatment off with cold water and blot it dry with a clean cloth. This will help prevent stain from setting into fabric.
Using a soft-bristled brush, apply a paste made of equal parts white vinegar and enzyme-based cleaner to stain. Use a gentle circular motion to scrub away the stain. This should help lift it out of the fabric without damaging it.
Once the stain is gone, rinse the area with cold water and pat it dry with a clean cloth. If you’re satisfied with the results, you’re finished!
