Cleaning Feces Stains from Sweatpants

  1. Scrape off as much feces as possible with a flexible spatula.
  2. If necessary, blot the stain with a paper towel to remove any remaining feces or other liquids.
  3. Mix 1 teaspoon of laundry detergent and 2 cups of cold water in a bowl. Dip a clean cloth or a soft-bristled scrub brush into the solution and apply it to the feces stain.
  4. Scrub the stain gently for a few minutes to allow the detergent to work its way into sweatpants fabric.
  5. If the stain persists, mix together 1 tablespoon of chlorine bleach and 2 cups of cold water. Use a clean sponge to apply this solution to the stain.
  6. Wait 5 minutes, then rinse stain with cold water.
  7. Check the stain for any signs of discoloration. If necessary, repeat steps 4-6.
  8. Wash sweatpants in washing machine on the hottest cycle according to care instructions on the label.
  9. Finally, air dry or machine dry sweatpants.

Additional Tips

  • Some types of fabrics may require special treatment when it comes to cleaning feces stains. Consider consulting a professional cleaner if the stain persists after you have tried the above method.
  • Always check the care instructions on sweatpants’ labels before attempting to clean any type of stain.
  • Try to act fast when cleaning up feces stains as it is easier to remove stains that have not had time to set in.
