Steps to Clean Feces Stains from Sweaters:

  1. Begin by scraping away any solids that are still on the fabric with a plastic spoon or spatula.
  2. Using cold water, soak the area in question for 10 minutes.
  3. Create a solution of ½ cup laundry detergent and 4 cups lukewarm water.
  4. Gently scrub the affected area with a soft cloth or soft-bristled brush.
  5. Allow the entire sweater to soak for 30 minutes.
  6. Rinse sweater with cold water until all suds are gone.
  7. Use a towel to blot the area and absorb any remaining moisture.
  8. Lay the sweater out flat on a drying rack and allow it to air dry.
  9. Once the sweater is dry, inspect for any remaining stains. If needed, repeat the steps above.

Tips for Cleaning Feces Stains from Sweaters:

  • Never use hot water when dealing with fecal stains, as this could cause the stain to set more deeply into the fabric.
  • Be sure to use a delicates-safe detergent when preparing your solution.
  • If the stain persists after following the steps listed above, you may need to take the item to a professional dry cleaner.
