Step 1: Rinse the Stain Immediately
The first step to cleaning a feces stain is to rinse it immediately. Use cool water and rinse out the stained area for about two minutes. This will help remove any excess matter and prevent the stain from setting into the fabric.
Step 2: Apply a Detergent Solution
Once the stain has been rinsed, create a detergent solution by mixing together one tablespoon of laundry detergent with two cups of warm water. Dip a clean, white cloth or sponge into the solution and gently rub the stain until it’s barely visible. Rinse again with cool water.
Step 3: Pretreat with a Stain Remover
If the stain is still visible after steps one and two, it’s time to pretreat with a stain remover. Sprinkle some baking soda on the stained area, then spray with stain remover and let sit for five minutes. Wipe off baking soda and repeat the detergent solution and rinse process from steps two and three.
Step 4: Wash and Dry
Once the stain has been removed, it’s time to put the sports bra into the washing machine. To ensure the best possible results, set the washing machine for cold water and a gentle cycle. After the cycle is complete, dry the bra on low heat.
