First Steps

When it comes to removing poop stains, the first thing to do is to try to scrape off as much of the solid waste as possible. Use a thin, stiff card like an old credit card or membership card if necessary, scraping gently so as not to damage the fabric. Once the bulk of the mess has been removed, it’s time to move on to the next steps.

Cleaning Solutions

To get rid of stain, start by dabbing the area with warm water, then pre-treat the stain with a commercial spot cleaner. Allow it to sit for at least five minutes before rinsing. Once the spot cleaner has been washed out, make a solution of ½ cup of white vinegar, ¼ cup of baking soda, and two cups of warm water. Dip a cloth into the solution and blot it onto the stain until the stain has been soaked through with the mixture. Allow the solution to sit for fifteen minutes before washing the skirt.

Washing Skirt

After the solution has been on the skirt for fifteen minutes, wash it in cold water with regular laundry detergent. Do not use bleach or fabric softener as they can set the stain. After washing, let the skirt air dry until completely dry.
