Things You'll Need

  • Cleaning detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Cold water
  • Soft bristle brush
  • Paper towels
  • Spray bottle

Step 1: Pre-Treat the Stain

Mix one part vinegar and two parts cold water in a spray bottle. Spray the stained area with the mixture and gently rub the material together with your fingertips to help the cleaning solution penetrate the fabric. Let sit for 15 minutes, then rinse with cold water.

Step 2: Apply Detergent

Apply a few drops of detergent directly onto the stain and work it into the fabric using a soft bristle brush. Make a circular motion with the brush and continue for about a minute.

Step 3: Rinse and Dry

Rinse the area with cold water until all of the detergent has been removed. Use paper towels to absorb excess water and let the material air dry.

Tips & Warnings

  • Avoid using hot water on silk nylon as it can cause discoloration.
  • Do not put silk nylon in the washing machine or dryer as these appliances can damage the fabric.
