We all know accidents happen. And when they do, they can leave a mess to clean up. So if you find yourself dealing with a feces stain on your shift dress, don’t panic! Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you remove the stain quickly and easily.

As soon as you notice the mess, take some paper towels to blot the liquid and solid stains away. Make sure to press firmly, but be gentle so that you don’t spread the stain further.
The next step is to pre-treat the stain before washing. You can make your own pre-treatment by mixing one tablespoon of dish soap with two cups of water. Dip a cloth into the mixture and carefully rub the solution into the staining material. Let the solution soak into the fabric for 10 minutes before continuing to the next step.
Put the dress in the washing machine with your usual detergent. Run the cycle on the highest temperature according to the label instructions. Allow the dress to air dry after washing.
If the stain has not been completely removed, repeat steps two and three. For stubborn stains, add some chlorine bleach to the pre-treatment solution. Be sure to check the fabric label before adding bleach and proceed only if the fabric is suitable for bleaching.
