Step 1: Remove Excess Feces

Gently scrape away any excess dried stool with a dull knife or a butter knife. Do not use a razor blade or other sharp object as it may damage the fabric. Place the robe on a towel so that the feces can easily fall onto it during the scraping process. When you’re done scraping, check the robe for any remaining stains.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain

If you notice any remaining stains, pre-treat them with a stain remover or mild liquid laundry detergent. Soak a cloth in some warm water and gently dab it onto the stain. Then, rub the pre-treat product into the stain until it is completely saturated. Allow it to sit for 10 minutes.

Step 3: Rinse the Stain

Once the pre-treat product has been given enough time to work, rinse the area with cool water. Gently rub the stained area with your fingers to help loosen the stain before rinsing. Try to avoid using hot water as it can set the stain.

Step 4: Launder the Robe

Now that the stain has been pre-treated and rinsed, it’s time to launder robe. Place the robe in the washing machine, making sure it isn’t overloaded and is washing on a delicate cycle. Add your detergent and any other cleaning products, then start the washer. You may want to add a color catcher sheet to load to prevent any possible color transfer.

Step 5: Check for Remaining Stains

Once the wash is complete, take out the robe and inspect it for any remaining stains. If any stains remain, repeat steps 2-4 until entire stain is removed. Once the stain is gone, hang dry your robe.
