Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Before getting started, make sure you have the following items:

  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Dish soap
  • Old toothbrush
  • Clean, white cloth
  • Lint-free rag

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain

Mix equal parts white vinegar and dish soap into a small bowl. Next, apply the pre-treatment solution to the stained area using an old toothbrush. Let solution soak into the stain for 10-15 minutes.

Step 3: Scrub the Stain

After letting the pre-treatment solution soak, use an old toothbrush to gently scrub the stain. The agitation should help lift the stain away from the fabric.

Step 4: Rinse the Stain

Once the stain has been scrubbed away, rinse the affected area with warm water. Make sure the stain is completely removed before moving on to the next step.

Step 5: Apply Baking Soda Paste

Next, create a paste using baking soda and warm water. Apply the paste to the stained area and allow it to sit for 30 minutes before wiping away with a lint-free rag.

Step 6: Wash the Raincoat

Finally, launder raincoat according to the instructions on the tag. Once it’s dry, inspect to make sure the stain is completely gone.
