What You'll Need:
- Laundry detergent
- Stain remover
- Oxygen bleach
- Baking soda
- White vinegar
- Clothes hanger
- Towel
Instructions:
- Dab any excess feces off the fabric with a damp towel.
- Apply laundry detergent directly to the stain.
- Wait five minutes, then massage detergent into the fabric with your fingers or a soft-bristled brush.
- Run cold water through the backside of the garment. Cold water can help stop the stain from setting in.
- Let the garment soak in a tub of cold water for about an hour.
- If necessary, apply a stain remover directly to the stain. Allow it to sit for a few minutes before rinsing.
- Fill your sink or a clean bucket with cold water and add one cup of oxygen bleach.
- Soak the garment in the solution for approximately 30 minutes.
- Empty the sink and rinse item again under cold running water.
- Make a paste with baking soda and a little water. Rub it into the stain, then rinse the garment thoroughly.
- If the stain persists, dab a small amount of white vinegar onto it. The vinegar should help remove the last bits of stain.
- Hang up the garment to air-dry.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I just throw item in washing machine?
All stains should be treated before being placed in the washing machine. Doing so can help ensure the stain doesn't remain after the cycle has finished.
Do I need to use all of the ingredients listed?
No. Depending on the severity of the stain, you may only need to use one or two of the ingredients. If one method doesn't seem to be working, try another.
