Before using any detergent or cleaning solution, it’s important to pre-treat the stained area with a few items. Use a spoon to scrape off as much of feces as possible and blot the area with a paper towel to absorb some of the moisture. Do not rub the stain as this can make it worse.
Mix a cup of warm water with two tablespoons of laundry detergent in a spray bottle. Shake it to mix evenly and lightly spray the stain. Gently scrub mixture into the fabric and leave it for fifteen minutes. Rinse the area with a damp cloth and repeat the process until stain is gone.
Using a baking soda paste is a gentle way to remove a feces stain from pique fabric. Mix one tablespoon of baking soda with three tablespoons of water and stir until it forms a thick paste. Apply the paste directly onto the stain and allow it to sit for fifteen minutes. Rinse it off with a damp cloth and repeat if necessary.
If the stain is particularly stubborn, you can use a stain remover spray. Spray the solution directly onto the stain and let it sit for five minutes. Rub the fabric together over the stain to work the cleaner into the fibers and rinse off with a damp cloth. Repeat this process until the stain has been removed.
Once the stain is gone, it’s important to launder the fabric properly. Put the item in washing machine on the gentle cycle with a mild laundry detergent. Hang the item up to dry or tumble dry on low heat to prevent shrinkage.
