The first step to removing feces from pillows is to scoop it up with a spoon, spatula, or paper towels. Be careful to do this as quickly as possible, so no further staining occurs. If there’s still some residue left on the pillow, don’t fret – we’ll take care of that in step 2.
Once all the solid matter has been removed, you’ll want to disinfect the area with a bleach solution. Simply mix one part bleach with nine parts water and apply it to the stained area. Let the solution sit for two minutes before rinsing it off with cold water. Repeat if necessary.
The final step is to launder the pillow. Make sure to use a mild detergent without any bleaching agents, as this could cause permanent damage to the fabric. You may want to run the pillow through the washing machine a few times for extra measure. Once this is done, hang pillow to dry.
