As soon as you notice the feces stain, grab a paper towel, rag, or clean cloth and start blotting. Don’t rub or scrub, as this could make the stain worse. Keep blotting until excess material is removed and area is dry.
Use a laundry pre-treatment product or mix equal parts warm water and white vinegar together. Apply it directly onto the stain and let sit for 10 minutes. You can also use a liquid laundry detergent if you don’t have any pre-treatment.
Place the pants in washing machine and select the appropriate cycle using cold water. Add correct amount of laundry detergent, then turn on machine. Let pants run through the cycle before removing them from the washer.
Check the pants after washing to make sure the stain is gone. If it’s still there, try repeating steps 1 through 3. For stubborn stains, use a laundry stain remover or other specialized product.
After washing and treating pants, put them in the dryer and dry on low heat. You can also hang them up to air dry. Once they’re completely dry, you should be able to wear them again!
