What You'll Need

  • Laundry detergent
  • Bristled brush
  • Enzyme cleaner
  • Baking soda
  • White vinegar
  • Fresh towels

Step 1 - Remove Excess Fecal Matter With a Bristled Brush

Using a bristled brush, scrape off as much of dried fecal matter as possible. Be sure to wear rubber gloves while doing this.

Step 2 - Add Detergent & Scrub

Add a few drops of laundry detergent and scrub affected area with a soft cloth or sponge. Scrub gently and don't use too much water to avoid spreading the stain.

Step 3 - Soak in an Enzyme Cleaner Mix

Mix up an enzyme cleaner using ¼ teaspoon of baking soda and ¼ cup of white vinegar per quart of warm water. Soak the item in the solution for an hour, then rinse with cool water.

Step 4 - Blot Dry with Towels

Once the item is rinsed off, use a fresh towel to blot the area dry.

Step 5 - Air Dry & Repeat If Necessary

Lay item flat and allow it to air dry completely. If the stain still persists, repeat steps 2 - 5 until the stain is removed.
