Gather the Supplies

Before attempting to clean off your mule's feces stains, make sure you have all the right supplies. You'll need some rubber gloves, a few towels, a bucket of warm water and mild soap, and a scrub brush or sponge. You may also want to have a garden hose nearby for rinsing the area.

Remove Solid Matter

The first step is to remove as much solid material as possible. Use one of the towels to pick up and scoop away the solid waste. You may want to dispose of the towel afterwards, as the feces may contain bacteria that could spread.

Scrub the Area

Once the solid waste is removed, you can start scrubbing the area with the soapy water and brush or sponge. Be sure to pay attention to any hard-to-reach areas and use your fingers if necessary. Work the soapy lather around the stain until area is clean. Rinse off the area with the garden hose and dry area with another towel.

Apply Cleaning Agent

If the area still has some stains, you may want to try using a stronger cleaning agent. There are many pet-safe cleaners on the market that can be used to effectively remove the stains. Apply a small amount of the cleaner, scrub the area, and then rinse off the cleaner with the garden hose. Be sure to read the directions thoroughly before application.
