Before you begin cleaning, it’s important to note that this technique works best on fresh stains. If the feces stains have been sitting for a while, you may need to try additional methods. Additionally, you should test any cleaner on a small spot before using it on the entire stain.

What You Need

  • Warm water
  • Dish soap or laundry detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Old toothbrush
  • Clean cloth

Instructions

  1. Mix warm water with a teaspoon of dish soap or laundry detergent in a bowl.
  2. Using an old toothbrush, scrub the stained area with soapy water.
  3. Rinse the stained area with warm water.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix 2 parts white vinegar to 1 part warm water.
  5. Using a clean cloth, dab the solution onto the stain.
  6. Let the solution sit for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Using an old toothbrush, scrub the stained area with the solution.
  8. Rinse with warm water.
  9. Let air dry.

With these steps, you can easily and effectively remove feces stains from your macramé pieces. Be sure to always test any cleaner on a small spot before applying it to entire stain.
