Step 1: Pre-Treat the Stain

The first step to removing a feces stain from your jeans is to pre-treat it with a stain remover. Choose a stain remover specifically formulated for use on denim and saturate area with it. Let the solution sit for 15-20 minutes, then blot the area with a soft cloth. Do not rub the stain as this will work the stain further into the fabric.

Step 2: Wash the Jeans

After pre-treating stain, it’s time to wash the jeans. Turn the jeans inside out and place them in the washing machine with a mild detergent and cold water. It’s important not to use hot water for two reasons; hot water can damage the fabric and set the stain, and it may cause bacteria from the fecal matter to spread from the stain to other areas of the jean.

Step 3: Check for Remaining Stains

Once the jeans have finished their cycle in the washer, check for any remaining stains. If the stain is still visible, it’s time to break out the heavy-duty stain remover. Saturate the area with the product and let it sit for 30 minutes, then throw the jeans in the washer and repeat the process.

Step 4: Air Dry Jeans

Once the jeans have been washed and stain is gone, it’s time to air dry them. Air drying will ensure that the stain is completely removed and won’t come back after the jeans have been put in dryer. Hang your jeans to dry and they should be good as new!
