What You Need

  • Dry cloth
  • Stain remover
  • Laundry detergent
  • Warm water

Step 1: Remove Excess Feces

Take a dry cloth and blot as much of the excess feces off of the headband as possible. Be sure to only blot, as rubbing will only make the stain worse.

Step 2: Apply Stain Remover

Apply a pre-treater or stain remover to area. Work it into the fabric with a soft cloth. Let it sit for at least 10 minutes before going on to the next step.

Step 3: Wash in Laundry Detergent

Wash headband in warm water with a few drops of laundry detergent. Add a fabric softener if desired. Rinse thoroughly with cool water and let air dry.

Additional Tips

  • Treat stains as soon as possible for best results.
  • Be sure to use a color-safe stain remover for fabrics that are not white.
  • If the stain does not come out after washing, try soaking headband overnight in a solution of warm water and enzyme-based laundry detergent.
