Step 1: Don't Panic

The first step in any successful clothing clean-up is to remain calm and remember that most messes can be managed with the right supplies and instructions.

Step 2: Blot Out Excess Moisture

Once accident has happened, grab a stack of paper towels and immediately blot up as much of the moisture from feces as possible. Do not scrub or rub the area.

Step 3: Apply Stain Remover

Once you've blotted up the excess moisture, liberally apply a stain remover or enzyme cleaner to the affected area of your clothing.

Step 4: Allow to Soak

Allow stain remover or enzyme cleaner to soak into the fabric for at least 15 minutes. The longer you allow it to soak, the more likely it will be able to break down and remove the staining material.

Step 5: Launder as Usual

Once you've allowed the stain remover to soak in, launder your clothing as you normally would. Be sure to double check the instructions on the stain remover to make sure you're washing with the right water temperature and cycle.
