When dealing with any kind of stain, it's important to act swiftly and efficiently. You should always try and remove the stain as soon as possible, because the longer it's left on fabric for, harder it will be to remove with just cleaning products. If the poop was fresh when it got on fabric, you should simply blot area with paper towels, and then rinse with cold water. Use more paper towels to mop up excess liquid from the fabric.

If the stain is more stubborn, however, you'll need more heavy duty cleaning products. Mix together a solution of one gallon of hot water, one- quarter cup of white vinegar, one teaspoon of dish washing liquid, and a few drops of tea tree oil. Apply the solution directly to stained area, gently agitating it. Use a brush or cloth to scrub away the stain. Then use paper towels or a damp cloth to mop up the cleaning solution.

You can also combat feces stains with a combination of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Begin by sprinkling baking soda over the affected area, and then use a clean cloth to gently rub the baking soda into the fabric. Allow baking soda to sit for about 15 minutes, before applying a hydrogen peroxide-based cleaner to the area. Gently scrub area with a clean cloth, and then blot area with a towel to remove the remaining fluids.

If neither of these methods works, you may need to enlist the help of either a steam cleaner or a dry cleaner. In the case of a steam cleaner, you will need to make sure that it's set on the lowest temperature setting possible to avoid damaging the draperies and curtains. For a dry cleaner, they will generally use a method called "wet cleaning" which combines solvents and water to clean delicate fabrics. Both methods should remove the stain effectively, but it's important to note that oftentimes steam cleaners and dry cleaners can be expensive.

Overall, dealing with feces stains on your draperies and curtains can be a difficult task, but not an impossible one. With the right combination of cleaning solutions and elbow grease, these unsightly stains can be no more!
