Using a clean cloth or paper towel, gently blot the stained area to absorb as much of the stain as possible. Work from the outside of stain towards the inside to ensure that the stain is not spread. Once you’ve finished, dispose of the cloth or paper towel.
Using a pre-treatment spray or liquid detergent, spray or dab the stain until it is completely covered. Let sit for 5 minutes then gently scrub the stain with a soft brush. If the stain is particularly stubborn, use a stronger detergent in place of pre-treatment.
Rinse the pre-treated area with lukewarm water. Then, fill a bucket or sink with cold water and add a small amount of laundry detergent. Submerge the stained area and let it soak overnight.
After soaking, wash the denim in the washing machine according to care instructions. Use hottest water setting that is safe for the type of fabric. Once the cycle is complete, let the denim air-dry.
Once the denim is dry, check results. If the stain is still visible, repeat the steps above until it is completely gone.
It's never fun to deal with feces stains, but with these steps you can easily remove them from your denim in no time. Follow these steps carefully and you can enjoy your clothes again in no time!
