The first step is to blot up as much of the excess liquid and solids as possible using clean paper towels. Do not rub or scrub the fabric, as this may spread stain further or cause the fibers to weaken.
Once the majority of the stain has been blotted, pre-treat the area using a mild detergent and cold water. Gently rub the detergent into the fabric, then rinse with cold water.
Place the fabric in a washing machine and use a mild detergent and cold water. If the stain is particularly stubborn, add a tablespoon of white vinegar to the load. Once the wash cycle is complete, inspect the fabric for any remaining stains.
If the stain is gone, let the fabric air dry. If there is still some residue, repeat Steps 2 and 3 until the fabric is completely clean.
