Before starting your cleaning process, make sure to read the garment’s care label for instructions on what type of cleaner is safe to use on chiffon georgette. It’s important to be careful not to damage fabric by using an overly harsh cleaner.

Step 1: Blot the Stain

To start, grab a clean, white cloth and gently blot the stain with cold water to absorb as much of liquid as possible. Do not rub at the stain as this can cause it to spread and set into the fabric.

Step 2: Make a Paste

Mix together one teaspoon of mild detergent and one teaspoon of baking soda, or white vinegar with three tablespoons of water. Stir until the mixture becomes a paste.

Step 3: Apply Paste

Using a soft cloth, apply the paste directly onto the stained area in a circular motion. Let the paste sit for 15 minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.

Step 4: Repeat as Necessary

If the stain is still visible after first application, repeat the process until the stain has been completely removed.

Step 5: Wash Clothes

Once the stain has been removed, wash the clothing according to the care label’s instructions. If a delicate cycle is recommended, use cycle and add a mild detergent. Hang to dry in a well ventilated area.
